Madonna is facing a lawsuit after a man from Southern California complained about her Celebration Tour. He attended her concert in Los Angeles and said it had sexually explicit content that caused him emotional distress.
The man, Justen Lipeles, filed a class action lawsuit against Madonna, Live Nation, and others involved in the tour. He attended the show on March 7 at the Kia Forum, which celebrates Madonna's 40-year career.
Lipeles claims the concert included "pornography without warning" and "topless women on stage simulating sex acts." He also said Madonna lip-synced most of the performance and that the venue was very hot because she ordered the air conditioning to be turned off, making him feel physically ill.
Another issue in the lawsuit is Madonna's habit of starting her shows late. Lipeles mentioned that she apologized for being late at a December 17 performance but also said she wasn’t really sorry because it's part of who she is.
This isn't the first time Madonna has faced legal issues for being late. Previous lawsuits have called her tardiness unfair and deceptive. In 2019, a similar lawsuit during her Madame X Tour was dismissed.
Madonna and her team now have to deal with these serious accusations about explicit content and show delays, which raise questions about their responsibility to the audience.
