Eric Johnson is a security professional from Michigan, United States. He graduated with high honors from Madonna University and holds over 20 professional certifications. He holds degrees in the areas of Criminal Justice and Homeland Security.
Eric has worked in several security command centers and as an emergency manager for a large mortgage company. He also teaches special guest lectures at colleges several times a year. “My Father’s Story: The Murder of the Best Man I’ve Ever Known” is Eric’s debut book. Since the book’s release at the end of September 2023, it has already become an Amazon Kindle eBook best seller in the Criminal Procedure category. The audiobook, eBook, hardcover, and softcover formats have already seen sales in countries around the world.

Please share a bit about your educational background and its impact on your security career.
My education in criminal justice is bits of knowledge in multiple areas. With my degree and certification in Homeland Security, it's much more focused. It allowed me to focus on emergency management and knowledge of policy creation/implementation in my security career.
With over 20 certifications, which ones do you find most valuable in your field?
The certifications that I find are the most valuable in my field, and life in general, are: Leadership and Influence, and Introduction to Continuity of Operations. In Continuity of Operations, you learn about business recovery in emergencies and can apply the same principles to everyday life.
Can you highlight key experiences from your roles in security command centers and as an emergency manager?
