CHAD MCQUEEN

Chad McQueen passed away at 63, as his family announced on September 12, 2024. Best known for his roles in films like The Karate Kid and his career as a racecar driver, Chad McQueen was also the son of legendary actor Steve McQueen. Due to the sudden nature of his passing, many fans were left wondering about the circumstances surrounding his death.

Chad’s family shared the news with a touching post on Instagram, where they paid tribute to him.

"It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our father Chad McQueen,” the caption read. “His remarkable journey as a loving father to us, along with his unwavering commitment to our mother, truly exemplified a life filled with love and dedication. His passion for racing not only highlighted his exceptional talent, but also served as a way to honor his father’s legacy, a testament to the values instilled in him. He passed his passion, knowledge and dedication down to us and we will continue not only his legacy but our grandfathers as well. As a family we need to navigate this difficult time and we kindly ask for privacy as we remember and celebrate his extraordinary life. With heartfelt gratitude, Jeanie, Chase, and Madison.”

According to multiple reports, Chad died from organ failure at his Palm Springs, California, ranch. His friend, Arthur Barens, shared that Chad "never fully recovered" from an accident that took place four years prior, in 2020.

In a statement obtained by Fox News, Arthur explained, “It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Chad McQueen, son of the iconic actor Steve McQueen. Chad suffered an injury in 2020 from which he never fully healed."

Details of the accident, including what exactly happened and where it took place, remain unclear.

Chad gained recognition for his role as Dutch, the antagonist in 1984’s The Karate Kid, a role he later reprised in The Karate Kid: Part II. Throughout his career, he appeared in several other films, such as Martial Law, Death Ring, Red Line, and The Fall.
